2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifying Group L: Senegal vs Burkina Faso Prediction

PREDICTION

From 2019 to 2022, Senegal were widely viewed as the dominant force in African football but there is now a danger that manager Aliou Cisse is remaining too loyal to that so-called ‘golden generation’. They still have quality and talent the envy of the African continent but there is perhaps a worry they could become stale and tired. Burkina Faso, though, have also fallen through their glory days of two AFCON semi-final appearances in four tournaments and they do also appear to be on the decline, despite the emerging talent of Edmund Tapsoba and Dango Ouattara. Senegal should win this one but it is not expected to be a thriller for the neutral.
