Up against his former club, Unai Emery will be keen to inflict further damage onto Arsenal after doing the double over the Gunners last season and all but ending their title chances in mid-April. Aston Villa started this season with an impressive performance at the London Stadium against West Ham United with goals coming from Amadou Onana and Jhon Duran in a 2-1 victory. They now face an Arsenal side that started with a comfortable 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners are once again looking to challenge for the title. Mikel Arteta’s style of football has become controlled and quite pragmatic, whilst Unai Emery will set up to nullify the Gunners’ strengths so a low-scoring encounter does seem likely.
