The two managers of these two sides are two of the most intensely pragmatic coaches in the Premier League. Julen Lopetegui and Unai Emery like to have control of matches and find ways to limit the strengths of their opposition first and foremost but both have had successful careers. West Ham United, in the first summer of the post-David Moyes era, have spent over £100 million but Aston Villa have spent over £150 million as both sides appear set to be very ambitious. A lack of control is exactly what both managers would hate but it could well be the case on the opening day with both teams scoring looking a good bet.
