Under the management of Luis de la Fuente, Spain have come from losing 2-0 to Scotland at Hampden Park in UEFA EURO 2024 qualification last March to current UEFA Nations League champions and favourites for the UEFA EURO 2024 final in just 14 months. La Roja have been the best and most convincing team at this tournament and came from behind with spectacular goals from 16-year-old Lamine Yamal as well as Dani Olmo in the semi-finals to defeat France.

Pre-tournament favourites England came into their semi-final on the back of five underwhelming displays but for a third successive knockout match they came from behind to defeat the Netherlands on Wednesday to reach back-to-back UEFA European Championship finals. Gareth Southgate’s side has come under intense scrutiny but the Three Lions have slowly improved as the tournament has gone on and they were genuinely excellent in the first-half against the Dutch.

Spain are favourites for this match but the amount of luck and memorable moments to have already gone England’s way would suggest there is a wind blowing in a certain direction and 58 years of hurt may be coming to an end. Based not only on that but also their strong performance and general improvement against the Dutch, it would be good value to side with England on Sunday.
